Schröter & Albrecht now is a PartG mbB

Since August 15, 2019 Schröter & Albrecht is a partnership with limited professional liability according to German law (in German: Partnerschaftsgesellschaft mit beschränkter Berufshaftung - PartG mbB).

Due to this change, the name of our office from that date on is:

Schröter & Albrecht Patentanwälte PartG mbB.

The German legislature has introduced this kind of partnership according to the " Gesetz zur Einführung einer Partnerschaftsgesellschaft mit beschränkter Berufshaftung und zur Änderung des Berufsrechts der Rechtsanwälte, Patentanwälte, Steuerberater und Wirtschaftsprüfer (PartGGuaÄndG)" which came into force on July 19, 2013. For a PartG mbB the professional liability is limited to the assets of the partnership. The German legislator demands that such a kind of partnership fulfills increased requirements regarding the coverage of the professional indemnity insurance, in detail the statutory minimum coverage sum is EUR 2,5 million for each insurance claim. These increased requirements have already been met by us before the change of legal form. Our current coverage exceeds this minimum sum.
